GET INVOLVED

Make change happen

Dementia-friendly communities are essential in enabling people living with dementia to live as well as possible for as long as possible. Remaining a part of their community is vital.

Become a Dementia Friend

We work closely with other charities to promote awareness and deliver training. The Alzheimer's Society has a specific scheme to encourage everyone to sign up to become a Dementia Friend. Dementia friendly Wokingham supports and promotes this work. It is easy to become a Dementia Friend. It's just about understanding a bit more about dementia and the ways in which we can support those living with dementia. Find out more: Dementia Friends | Alzheimer's Society (alzheimers.org.uk)

Help us make a change.

Dementia-friendly communities are essential in enabling people living with dementia to live as well as possible for as long as possible. Remaining a part of their community is vital.

Too many people affected by dementia feel society fails to understand the condition they live with, its impact or how to interact with them. That’s why people with dementia sometimes feel they need to withdraw from their community as the condition progresses.

Each individual, business, service and organisation has it within their power to make a real difference just by deepening their awareness.  By being involved you will benefit from access to staff training, environment & building assessments, peer support and much more.
